ESTERO, Fla. - Drexel wraps up its trip to Florida on Wednesday evening when the Dragons face Indiana State in the consolation game of the Gulf Coast Showcase. Both teams suffered close losses on Tuesday. The game will begin at 5 p.m. in Hertz Arena. The 2022-23 men's basketball season is presented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker's Local 98.
About Drexel
The Dragons are now 3-2 after a tough 67-59 loss at the hands of Florida Gulf Coast. Amari Williams had a strong performance with 20 points and nine rebounds, but the Dragons struggled to shoot the ball from deep and from the free throw line. Williams was the only Drexel player to score in double figures. He is averaging 16 points and 9.3 rebounds through five games. Coletrane Washington, who had 22 on Monday, is averaging 12.8 points per game and is shooting .455 from deep.

About Indiana State
The Sycamores suffered their first loss of the year against Kansas City on Tuesday. They begin play with a 4-1 record. Courvoisier McCauley is the team's top scorer with more than 20 points per game. He has already attempted 54 3-pointers in just five game and has made 20. More than half of ISU's field-goal attempts have been 3-pointers and the Sycamores have made 36 percent of those.

Against the Gulf Coast Field
The Dragons have only played against three teams in the field coming in. Drexel had a 2-0 record against both Florida Gulf Coast and against ECU prior to the event. The Dragons are 2-1 against East Carolina. Drexel Head Coach Zach Spiker has not faced any of the teams in the field as the Dragons' Head Coach.

Preseason Prognostications
The CAA preseason pollsters picked the Dragons for seventh place in 2022-23. Towson was the overwhelming favorite, receiving 12 of the 13 first-place votes. The Dragons were picked just behind Northeastern. Drexel junior Amari Williams was a Second Team All-CAA preseason pick. He had an outstanding sophomore year, averaging 9.5 points and 7.3 rebounds. Williams also led the league in blocked shots with 57.
